Beauty Focus™ Collagen+ Clinical Study

Beauty Focus Collagen+ is a clinically studied supplement that provides a unique blend of ingredients—bioactive collagen peptides, lutein, and phytoceramides (fie-toe-ser-ah-mydes). But what kind of results can you expect with this product? Let’s dive in and discover what the clinical study showed.

This was a double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled study. That means participants were randomly divided into two groups: one group received Beauty Focus Collagen+, and one group received a placebo (substance that doesn’t do anything). Neither the study participants nor the dermatologist evaluating the subjects’ skin knew who was taking the placebo or the supplement. There were 40 subjects in the group taking Beauty Focus Collagen+ and 20 subjects taking the placebo. Both groups also used an ageLOC® LumiSpa® regimen on half their face daily to assess complementary benefits of using the device while supplementing with Collagen+.

The subjects in the study had their skin graded by a dermatologist at the beginning of the study, 30 days, 60 days, and 120 days. Additionally, each subject was scanned using the Pharmanex BioPhotonic Scanner S3 to measure skin carotenoid levels at baseline, 30 days, and 120 days of the study.

The dermatologist rated various skin attributes of the subjects at each review point, including overall appearance, skin texture, and skin radiance. Based on this clinical grading, the average percent improvement over baseline was calculated after four months. The study showed the following results for subjects taking Beauty Focus Collagen+:

  • 18% improvement in overall appearance
  • 24% improvement in skin texture
  • 33% improvement in skin radiance (this result was statistically significant)

Researchers also evaluated the visible results of taking Beauty Focus Collagen+ and using the ageLOC LumiSpa system daily. The researchers saw complementary benefits from using these two products together, including the following results:

  • 43% improvement in overall appearance
  • 79% improvement in skin texture
  • 47% improvement in skin radiance

As before, this data was calculated as a percent improvement over baseline, according to dermatologist grading after four months.

In addition to clinical grading with a dermatologist, subjects were also scanned using the Pharmanex BioPhotonic Scanner to measure their skin carotenoid levels. After one month, subjects taking Beauty Focus Collagen+ saw an improvement in their skin carotenoid score; their scores continue to improve and were statistically significant after four months.

Beauty Focus Collagen+ was shown to significantly improve skin texture, radiance, and overall appearance. Additionally, Collagen+ provides the skin with nutrients it needs to prepare it for better results from skin care device systems—as seen by demonstrating that Beauty Focus Collagen+ and ageLOC LumiSpa provided complementary benefits. Collagen+ also significantly increased skin carotenoid scores, as measured with a Pharmanex BioPhotonic Scanner.
